What needs repairing?

Greater Manchester, Bolton and Oldham.

We ring you back to agree a two-hour window — same day where the diary allows it. You are told every price before the work it is for.

What we repair

Seven appliances, done properly

Every visit includes a full check of the appliance, not only the fault you rang about. Most jobs are finished on the first visit because the parts that fail most often travel on the van.

Buying new? We fit them too.

All seven — connected to the supply you have, levelled and tested before we leave. Priced before we start.

What it costs

Three figures, and that is the lot

No hourly rate, no minimum charge, no weekend premium and nothing added when a job turns out to take longer than expected.

Full pricing
  1. 1

    Call-out and diagnosis

    £49.00ex-VAT · £58.80 inc

An engineer attends, tests the appliance and tells you what has failed and what it will take to put right. Charged whether or not you go ahead with the repair.

  2. 2

    The repair itself

    £30.00ex-VAT · £36.00 inc

Added to the call-out if you ask us to carry out the repair, bringing the total labour to £79.00 ex-VAT (£94.80 inc-VAT). One fee, however long the job takes.

  3. 3

    Parts, if any are needed

    Quoted first

Quoted before we order anything and charged at cost plus fitting. You are told the figure and you decide — nothing is fitted without a yes.

How a repair goes

From your call to a working appliance

  1. 01

Tell us what it is doing

Ring us or use the form. The model number and any error code on the display are the two things that most help us bring the right part.

  2. 02

    We agree a time

Same day where we can reach you, otherwise the next. You get a two-hour window, not a whole day at home waiting.

  3. 03

    The engineer diagnoses it

A full test of the appliance, not only the fault you reported. You are told what has failed, in plain English, and what it will cost before anything is fitted.

  4. 04

    Fixed, and guaranteed 6 months

Most jobs finish on the first visit. If the repair is not worth doing, we will say so — and you will have paid only the call-out.

From the van

Actual jobs, photographed on them

Not stock photography. These are the engineer’s own pictures from real call-outs — which is also why they are not especially pretty.

A dense rope of grey lint pulled out of a tumble dryer duct, laid on newspaper.

This came out of one dryer

Lint gets past the filter over a couple of years and packs the ducting solid. The machine ends up recycling air it has already used, which is why a load takes three cycles — and why a dryer running hot against a blockage is the commonest cause of appliance fires.

Tumble dryers
A cooker terminal block with badly burnt and corroded connections.

A cooker terminal that had started to burn

Found behind the cooker on a call-out about uneven heating. A loose connection arcs, the heat builds and the block chars. Nobody in the house knew. This is what a full check of the appliance is for, rather than only the fault you rang about.

Cookers & ovens
The back of a washing machine with the casing removed, exposing the drum, motor and belt.

Where a bearing diagnosis actually happens

The casing comes off and the drum, motor and belt get checked by hand and by ear. It is the only honest way to tell a stretched belt from worn brushes from bearings — and bearings are the one fault where the answer is often that replacing the machine is better value.

Washing machines
A ceramic hob with two rings glowing red, tested after a repair.

Tested before we leave

Rings brought up to temperature and checked individually after a repair. A hob that works once on the bench is not the same as a hob that works in the kitchen, so it goes back in and gets run properly.

Cookers & ovens
A full freezer drawer stacked with frozen food, holding temperature.

The reason we prioritise no-cooling calls

A full freezer holds for roughly twenty-four hours with the door shut. After that it is a week of food in the bin, which is usually worth more than the repair. Say it is not cooling when you ring and it goes to the front of the diary.

Fridges & freezers
An appliance control board removed from its housing, with the loom still connected.

A board is diagnosed, not guessed at

Control boards are the expensive part, and the one most often replaced when something cheaper had failed. It gets tested in place before anything is ordered — and you get the figure before we order it.
